Research shows that appearance has an immense impact on the outcome of an individual’s interview. Through providing professional attire, resume development, and interview preparation to low- or no-income individuals, we are removing the financial barrier faced in preparing for a job interview. This levels the playing field for those who may not otherwise have access to these products or services, which may lead to their dismissal before or during the interview process. Individuals of minority populations are disproportionately affected by poverty and low socioeconomic status; hence, they are disproportionately affected by the financial barrier of affording professional attire and individualized job preparedness programs or services. Clothed in Confidence Colorado is working to reduce barriers to employment through providing professional attire, resume development, and interview preparation free of charge.
